This is an example of good composition for several reasons. First, the sunflower has symmetrical balance since the image is pretty much the same on both sides. Also, the photo has a good variety of colors, shapes, lines and sizes. There is green, yellow, orange, red along with different background shapes from my deck and other stems. Then, the petals have repetition in the sense that they have similar looking petals. In addition, dominance is present making the sunflower bloom the focal point. Sunday, September 13, 2009
Composition Project Post#1

The first photo, my eye is drawn to the weed. It is out of focus, but placed in 1/3 of the page. I find it interesting. I agree with you on the other photos.
